My West Virginia University education launched me professionally and personally. Now I have the chance to give back to WVU by serving as its 22nd president.

I am honored to come home.

As a student, WVU?s faculty and staff challenged my preconceptions and encouraged my dreams. They gave me opportunities to test myself, and instilled the confidence to take intellectual risks. They made me believe that I could achieve anything.

In the process, I found community, mentors and lifelong friends. I enjoyed unforgettable experiences. I developed an enduring pride in West Virginia University.

I know I am not alone.

For Inauguration week, we have planned a series of events that celebrate our shared pride and commitment to fulfilling dreams and changing lives.

I hope you will join in this celebration.
